Key components of screw air compressor oil circulation(6)
Aug 22 , 2024

The minimum pressure valve (also called pressure maintaining valve) of the screw air compressor is a key component in the oil circulation system and is located at the outlet above the oil-gas separator. Its main functions include:

1.Ensure that the circulating pressure required for lubrication can be quickly established when the air compressor is started to prevent equipment wear caused by poor lubrication.

2.Control the gas flow rate to prevent high-speed airflow from destroying the oil-gas separation effect and preventing lubricating oil from being carried out of the system.

3.When the compressor stops working or enters the no-load state, it prevents the compressed air in the air tank from flowing back to the oil and gas barrel.

4.Maintain a certain pressure to ensure oil circulation and meet the working pressure requirements of the load relief valve.

5.It has a one-way valve function to prevent the compressed air in the air tank from flowing back to the air compressor during unloading operation.

The minimum pressure valve is usually adjusted to maintain pressure at the factory, generally between 3 and 5 MPa. If the pressure changes due to long-term use or other reasons, it can be adjusted through the adjustment screw on the valve. If the minimum pressure valve fails, it may cause problems such as excessive pressure in the air compressor and motor overload. Therefore, regular inspection and maintenance of the minimum pressure valve is essential to ensure the normal operation of the screw air compressor.
